Tasmanian Devil Activity
Tasmanian Devil information resource:
First Step: Introduce the Australian endangered Tasmanian devil to the class. Then have a small discussion with the class talking about their history, their biology the habitat they live in and how they are now becoming extinct. Second Step: Provide a small brief description of what (DTFD) Devil Facial Tumour Disease is, and how this disease has majorly affected the Tasmanian Devil. This can be done by showing graphs of the decrease of the Tasmanian Devil over the years, and a map showing how over the years how much the disease has caused the Tasmanian Devil to decrease so dramatically that they are now extinct. Third Step: Teacher then could provide a worksheet based off the information (text, map and graph) provided that allows students to exercise numerical ability and expand on knowledge of endangered animals. |
Creating a poster to foster an awareness about the endangered animal and how donating money can have a positive impact on the safety of these animals, this poster will be displayed during lunch times with a donation bucket nearby, the students will explain the poster to any viewers
